their mind with you.
The Power of Godliness
Godliness is living to please God.
Godliness is spiritual exercise.
Godliness is all about walking in the Will and purpose of
God.
Godliness provokes a passion/zeal for God and the things
of God.
Godliness is about knowing God, Experience God and having
God.
The secret of godliness is obedient to the Word of God.
Spiritual exercise makes you to be spiritually healthy.
Spiritual exercise also gives birth to physical health.
This means that when we walk in godliness, we will experience divine healing
and health.
Nobody is a superman or power ranger; what makes you
extraordinary and special is GODLINESS.
Spiritual Enemies of Godliness
1.
The Unclean spirit: unclean spirit makes you to speak foul and
abusive language. Using your tongue to blaspheme, gossip, murmur, or slander
makes it unclean…and this is ungodly.
When you walk in godliness, you
will have dominion power. Your word cannot carry authority except you walk in
godliness with your tongue.
2.
The Spirit of Lust: This enemy gives strength to
your flesh (human nature) to grave for sinful desire that will go against the
Spirit of God and the Word of God. Lust can lead to sexual immorality,
debauchery and other inordinate affections.
When we allow us to take over
our heart, we can no longer walk in godliness.
Lust we make us carnal; while
godliness will make us spiritual.
3.
The Seducing Spirit: this is the dominant spirit of the last days.
People are looking for what will satisfy them and they have fall prey to lies
and deceptions of Satan’s seducing spirit.
Seducing spirit makes someone to
persuade and lure others into falling into sin. This is why the Bible warned us
about the people will follow. (Read Psalm 1)
·
It tells us that it does not matter.
·
It takes the Word of God out of context for
personal interest to fulfill selfish desire.
·
It makes you to believe a lie.
·
It set a stone that cause a fellow to stumble.
Word of Wisdom:
·
If the love of God is your ultimate motivation,
you will not fall prey of seduction.
·
If you want to walk in godliness, you must
consider the interest and well being of other people.
4.
Spirit of Addiction: To be addicted is simply
being bound or stuck to something.
Every addiction is rooted in
idolatry.
When we are addicted to what
brings profit to ourselves and not to the Kingdom of God, then we practicing
idol worship. The only approved addiction is to be addicted to godliness.
As long as you struggle with one
form of addiction (e.g. football, games, fashion, worldly music, worldly TV
programs, drugs, drinking, food or partying) you will struggle to walk in
godliness.
There is a way that seems
right…but it will lead to destruction. Addiction will lead to the anger of God. Addiction takes away the place of God in our
heart. This is dangerous!!!
5.
Spirit of Compromise: I have being a victim of
this spiritual enemy. This spirit will make us live a life of hypocrisy and
lose our integrity and stand with God. This spirit will put you under pressure
to displease God and practice unrighteousness. Compromise means to give up the
Standard of God (in the Word of God) to please someone or people. This is very
painful to God and can make one be cast away from God. It is better to seek the
praise of God and be hated by the Word. If you compromise the Word of God in
your practice and teaching, you cannot walk in godliness.
6.
Spirit of Pride: This is your number one enemy.
Since the fall of man and sin came into man, pride has been the main struggle
of every one of us. Success, power, fame and beauty are lead many into the pit
of pride and many great lives have been buried in hell.
Proud people are spiritually
paralyzed. Pride goes before destruction. Pride makes us to be arrogant and
haughty. Pride leads to stubbornness and rebellion. Pride is rooted in
witchcraft.
Humility is a cloth of
protection. Submitting to authority is a killer of pride and it will save us
from many setbacks.
To walk in godliness we must
wage war against these enemies and prevail by the Power of the Holy Spirit.
Through the Grace of God…we will
walk in godliness…and live a life that pleases God.
